Fostering Achievement in Research (FAIR) Fellowships will support the Victorian Government’s work to deliver a diverse, secure and highly skilled health and medical research workforce, based on the successful Victorian ‘Near-Miss Awards’ pilot program (2022).
A key objective of the initiative is to support the retention and development of outstanding emerging researchers and future leaders.
The project will provide funding for up to 13 early and mid-career researchers who narrowly missed out on NHMRC Investigator Grant funding in the Emerging Leaders 2 stream and received a minimum category score of 6. Recipients will receive an award of $74,000 each, matched by cash contributions from their primary employer for the same value.
