Victoria Prize & Fellowship – recipients in 2022
The announcement of the Victoria Prize for Science & Innovation and Victoria Fellowship recipients in 2022 was held in person on Tuesday, 13 December at an event organized by veski at the Investment Centre Victoria.
The Hon. Ben Carroll MP, Minister for Industry and Innovation announced the prestigious Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation & Victoria Fellowships. Meet the Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation & Victoria Fellowship recipients in 2022.
The Awards Ceremony was emceed by Dr Conrad Wasko from the University of Melbourne and a Victoria Fellow in 2020 and Dr Marzi Barghamadi from CSIRO and a Victoria Fellow in 2021.
From 2012 – 2022, veski delivered the prestigious Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation and Victoria Fellowships on behalf of the Victorian Government.

Professor Brian Abbey & A/Professor Belinda Parker
Researchers Professor Brian Abbey, La Trobe University and Associate Professor Belinda Parker, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre have been jointly awarded the 2022 Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation in Physical Sciences in recognition of their research and development of the NanoMslide – a nanofabricated microscope slide that detects cancer cells and could be used to improve the accuracy of early cancer diagnosis.

A/Professor Joshua Ooi & Professor Eric Morand
Associate Professor Joshua Ooi and Professor Eric Morand from Monash University have been jointly awarded the 2022 Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation in Life Sciences in recognition of their research into targeted cell therapies to treat autoimmune diseases, in particular Lupus.
