veski innovation fellowships bring individuals with outstanding skills in the fields of science and innovative technology, typically in the top five per cent of their fields to Victoria.

Since 2004, the veski innovation fellows have collectively leveraged additional funds to the State of Victoria in excess of 18.4:1 to support their research efforts from Federal and International funding bodies. That’s more than $45 million in return for a modest $3 million investment in Victorian research.

Applications were sought from individuals working in the areas of:

• biotechnology;
• biomedical;
• advanced manufacturing (including food science and bioengineering);
• digital agriculture;
• cyber security;
• environmental and energy technologies;
• the enabling sciences;
• space and transportation;
• and any other areas deemed a priority.
